I'm surprised at all the demand for help with AUG boxes. The AUG's box is no more complicated than any other V3. I've done AUGs, AKs, and SL8s and they're all about the same in difficulty.

The AUG's complex-looking wiring all comes off in one piece. Just unscrew the two screws that are holding your motor cage on and voila--off it comes. You don't have to mess with those wires at all in order to replace the mechanical parts inside the gearbox.

Also, the mechanical trigger on the AUG may be a different shape than a G36 or AK trigger, but it works exactly the same. The trigger rotates the little metal bit behind it, and a tooth on the little metal bit pushes the contacts in your trigger box forward against a little return spring. I'm pretty sure that 90% of AEG triggers work that way. AUG boxes are not complicated at all, they just look intimidating because of those extra wires.

Great Videos! Your videos are the most explanatory I have yet to see. These videos really helped me my first time opening and working on my clones gearbox (because I knew you should reshim and relube the gears of a clone). I can't thank you enough for your hard work and patience.

The triggers r always nasty. Screwed up mine today when I assembled the marui g36 box. Everything worked fine but the trigger had to be returned manually after each shot so the trigger spring is probably somewhere where it's not supposed to be.

Also the gekko shell is a pain in the ass to reassemble because the mechbox+wires fit just and just inside the pistol grip and then you have to squeeze the plastic shells together to get the bolts and pins fit in place
(****!) I'm so pi***d right now. Once it was so painless to tear it down but now it's getting old.

Also the mecha's shell has a loose part held only by the retaining strap on top. It cracked for some reason after I installed a m110 spring (everything else stock)
Cheap metal apparently.. At least I heard that the box should hold m120 spring upgrade without changing any other parts.

i think this is a great video. very informative and really leaves nothing to the imagination.
i'm very competent with v2 mechboxes but haven't tried v3's and i thought mechbox.com would be just the place to find some info. one thing that people need to know however is that mechboxes have no "timing". they are self timing. as long as the sector gear isn't engaging the piston when you reinstall it will be fine. even if it was it would correct itself after 1 cycle. other than that it's a great video.

I have a G36 and tried to take the mechbox apart before I watched the video. when taking the top half of the case of it shot out all the parts including the trigger assembly. Is there a video available to show how to reassemble that trigger assembly?

Hello guys,
Please can someone help me to reassemble the trigger and the little spring on AK47? (the 3 parts: trigger, spring, metal part) A lot of people asked the same question, but I didn't see any answer about it.
Thanks a lot

Alright, The Mech Box for the Steyr AUG is really difficult when it comes to resembling. Any 120 or higher spring will be difficult to keep in place as I try to attach the cover. Not to mention the spring loaded anti reversal latch is always out of place and pushes the bevel gear out of position. Also the Steyr AUG has a complex trigger system where it also pops outa place due to a tiny spring. The two trigger pieces also makes attaching the cover difficult.

Easier said than done. Maybe only AK47 mechboxes are taht easy
