Update: P90, SCAR giveaway and V7 mechbox

We just received a new P90 from our friends at Airsoft Extreme which we’re planning to do a “before and after” upgrade to catalog the exact results of a specific upgrade.  This month is going to be busy, but we’re planning to get a few things produced and out the door before September.

About the P90 video

In the first of what we hope are many upgrade videos to come, we are kicking off our first “before and after” upgrade with the P90 provided by AEX (Airsoft Extreme).  The idea is to demonstrate the exact results of upgrading an AEG including a list of the exact parts used in the upgrade, how to do it, tips and tricks and a link back to the website where you can order the exact same set of part to do it yourself!

The P90 upgrade will be a fairly complete overhaul including gears, battery, barrel, bushings, spring, piston, etc.

 

Version 7 mechbox video

We’re trying to get our hands on a set of basic upgrade parts for the M14 (V7) upgrade video.  We know it’s taking forever and hope to have some parts by the middle of the month.  Right now, the plan is to break down the AGM M14 mechbox and demonstrate a very basic upgrade to the spring (maybe the gears too). 

 

SCAR Winner

I’m sure many are anxious for us to draw the name of the winner.  Our goal is to see if we can reach a higher number of entries before we draw the winner.  Not only would we like more entries, we’re hoping to get some other videos shot before we commit to upgrading the SCAR.  Tell your friends to enter, post a link to the giveaway, blog about it…just send more entries this way!

  1. Looks like you went Classic Army for the majority of the upgrade parts. Hope the piston holds up, I’ve had problems with theirs. Their gears are always great, except for the spur gear is sometimes a little top large for the mechbox (Classic Army CA25 Super Torque Up spur gear wouldn’t fit in my Classic Army CA25 … go figure)

  2. Kyle, yes it’s a heterogeneous mix of parts sent from AEX. I pretty confident the stuff is good, plus we’ll test everything thoroughly to see how things last!

  10. 6mm, you rock! I can’t wait for the V7 video though. With your vid, I was able to take down my sons M14 and thought: “6mm taught me to work on my V2 mechbox with great success, should be all right”. BZZZZ. Nope. Needless to say, I’m sure the gun will work great after your V7 vid comes out.

  11. Just was curious if Tokyo Marui was back in business of selling the p90? I read that the production was on hold because of part issues. The p90 is my next project. BadA$$ website too!! Thanks.

  12. fokai, if you’re looking for a p90, i think Airsoftgi has some tm p90 RD versions. But since the TR is more popular, im going to assume that’s what you want and in that case, i’ve seen quite a few lately on the ASF classifieds

  25. @ Ben, the spring guide in the P90 is generally fine just as it is. Upgrade if you are really pushing the AEG to shoot more than 400fps or if you’re looking for some high-speed ROF.
