In case you missed the small banner in the right column, here’s a friendly reminder for you. Mechbox.com is giving away a JLS SCAR provided by Airsplat.com. Click on the ‘Win an upgraded SCAR’ banner and send us your email and what sort of upgrade YOU would want if we draw your name.

Once we draw the winner, we will perform the JLS upgrade on camera and make the video available for everyone to see. So enter now, leave a comment and tell us what you’d like us to do to the SCAR.

  1. I think the FPS should be left alone (that is, same spring, or an m110) and durability or ROF upgrades should be put into the mechbox. I think it should also have a nice TB barrel and a new hop up bucking.

    Another option would be some nice external mods.

  6. I believe you will record before mod and after mod performance. FPS, Accuracy, ROF, etc. This I would like to see.

  8. Durability and accuracy/range are the most important qualities to me. The most important ones is to upgrade the bushings to 7mm, new quality hop up bucking, perhaps a new h-nub, hopup chamber, and precision inner barrel. If there are compresion issues I would suggest new air nozzel, cylinder head, pistonhead or even a new piston.

  9. Put a JBU or Huricane m120 tune up kit.. For the gear set a Modify Modular Torque Up Gear Set, would be nice because shimming wouldn’t be necessary. Some Guarder 6mm Ball Bearings, so it runs very smooth. A Systema motor. A mad bull 6.03 barrel. And to help the motor out a standard 9.6V of any kind….what ever fits in the gun…hope that’s not asking to much thanks!

  11. H- We’re planning to randomly* pick a name before the end of July. The upgrade and video will come out in August. *We’ll use a random number generator to select the corresponding entry/name that matches the random number.

  12. Fps should be around 380-400fps by putting on a pd190 spring, and high torque gears.. wirings should also be replaced so that the unit could be fitted with a 11.1 volts lipoly battery pack.. Tight barrel and brand new hop up bucking is a must. External modifications should only be limited to a chemical/baked paint job.. Additional rails and scopes are optional

M120 spring, standard ratio gears would be fine, any polycarbonate piston and a new air nozzle, does the JLS S.C.A.R. come with metal bushings? if not, those and a metal spring guide with bearings and if there is a metal hop-up unit for the S.C.A.R. also along with a 9.6v 1600mAh battery That would be like the best set-up for my friend, he needs a new AEG.
